Quinn provided complete landscape architectural services for this three-storey affordable rental housing building serving seniors with 60 fully barrier-free units. The universally-accessible design includes amenities for residents and other community support groups. A sheltered open-air courtyard is framed by a grove of sumac and birches, and offers seating spaces, a BBQ area, and raised planters for gardening activities.

Attractive plantings and landscape features buffer the building from the street, and a small plaza connects the site to the surrounding neighborhood. The plaza is edged with a series of terraced gardens with seat walls to create a comfortable place of respite. A large palette of native and robust plant species creates a landscape with year-round interest and appeal.
