Seneca College — Newnham Campus KIP Building A
TORONTO, ONTARIO
Client: Seneca College
With: Dialog, PCL Constructors
Completion: 2011
The landscape development for the new Knowledge Infrastructure Program Facility at the Newnham Campus of Seneca College included the establishment of a new entrance and arrivals plaza that combines vehicle and bus drop off as well as access to adjacent parking. This plaza not only serves the new building but also acts as a key access point for the west side of the campus. The design also includes several fully-accessible student gathering areas defined and separated from the traffic by raised planters, that also function as seating walls, and are planted with sustainable and low maintenance native and hardy species.
Permeable paving, stormwater management features, pedestrian-scale lighting, exterior furniture and ample bicycle parking complete this functional and comfortable Campus space.
