Quinn is providing complete landscape services for this urban condominium tower located on Church Street in the city’s core. Situated on a tight site, the landscape areas include street trees at grade and a generously proportioned fourth floor amenity terrace. A heritage component for this terrace required a series of walls referencing historic roof lines. Quinn used the walls to create outdoor barbecue areas with tall work tables —mimicking a kitchen work table— and higher seating that provides views over the heritage wall towards the City and setting sun.
The south terrace is designed to accommodate individual use as well as gatherings for outdoor dining or table tennis. Shelters for shade are entered through decorative screens that also mitigate wind. The design accommodates a variety of uses for all age groups to promote the building as family friendly, thereby meeting the City’s requirement to plan for children in “New Vertical Communities.”
