Quinn Design Associates was responsible for the landscape planning, detail design, and construction administration of Phases 1 and 2 of this 1,000-unit residential development. The 15-acre property, a former Brownfield industrial site, is located on the western beaches waterfront at the base of the Humber River watershed.
Our firm created attractive community and individual block landscape plans and streetscape designs while responding to site issues that included the need for soil remediation and accommodation of storm water management requirements in an adjacent park space. The resulting design integrates built and natural forms to create a park-like setting with an urban character that enriches the experience of living in this community. Quinn was also responsible for the integration of several significant pieces of public art into the overall scheme.
The latest project Quinn undertook, and the last required to complete the development of the community, was the design and construction of a significant entry parkette incorporating several large existing trees and a portion of a natural watercourse from Grenadier Pond.
